Man Wanted in Connection to Co-Worker’s Death
Breckenridge, Colo. (Summit County) – Miles Fernando Tovar, 38, of Breckenridge, is wanted by the Breckenridge Police Department in connection to an on-going investigation of the 2019 death of his then co-worker, Brendan Rye. Defendant Tovar is charged with: 1st Degree Burglary (F3), Manslaughter (F4), 1st Degree Criminal Trespass (F5), and Harassment (M3).
On Nov. 6, 2019, at 9:48pm, a co-worker called 9-1-1 to report Mr. Rye was unconscious and not breathing in a condominium they were all living in while renovating it (in Breckenridge). Upon arrival, law enforcement noted that Tovar was lying on the floor in the hallway between two bedrooms, while Mr. Rye lay unresponsive in the bathroom. He was later pronounced deceased.
“I’m happy we’ve been able to move this complex case another step closer towards obtaining justice for
Mr. Rye, as well as his family and friends,” said James Baird, Breckenridge Chief of Police.
